Even though tracking is so important (especially tracking for solo ads traffic), this is a topic that is always only brushed upon.

You always hear marketers say: “You need to track this, track that and that…” Blah, blah, blah!!!

Trust me, I understand that it is NOT EASY to set up tracking if you don’t know how to go about it correctly. If you’re not tracking, it’s probably not because you don’t understand the importance of it, but rather, you don’t know how to do it properly, right? 🙂

Keep in mind this is tracking for Solo Ads traffic and not for CPA!

For CPA tracking you should use different methods and different tracking tools. I’ll give you some links at the end of the post if you want to know how to use those advanced tracking tools, but for now let’s stay focused on solo ads traffic. 😀

So there are really only 2 steps you need to do to have all the tracking correctly set up.

They are:

  1. Tracking Your Links. You need to do this in order to allow your conversion pixel to “fire” back to give you accurate data.
  2. You need to place your conversion pixels on your “Thank You” page. This is the page your leads are redirected to after they opt in.

That’s pretty much it!

Let me now give you an example of how to do this. Below are two pages we are going to use:

First, we want to turn the squeeze page URL into our tracking link. The reason why we are doing this is because we want to be able to track how many clicks we get.

For example, if you use and give that to the solo ads vendor as your link, you won’t be able to track how many clicks you get, right?

But, if instead you turn that into your tracking link, you can simply just log into ClickMagick and see all your clicks there in real time on your dashboard.

Another reason, which I already explained, is that you need to have a tracking link in order for your conversion pixel to work.

Below is a simple step-by-step process. (Easy stuff really!) 🙂

As you can see, it’s really quite simple if you follow the steps. Now that you have your tracking link, you want to give to your solo ads vendor.

Next, you want to place your conversion pixels on your Thank-You-page!

Simply copy this code and head over to your Thank-You-page and paste it into the “Body” section of the page.

LeadPages actually makes it VERY EASY for you and there is a section where you can paste in the code.

Now, when visitors click on your tracking link and land on your squeeze page, you will be able to track all of the clicks.

Next, if they decided to opt in and get redirected to your Thank-You-page, where you placed the conversion pixel, the pixel will fire back an “Action” to the last tracking link that belongs to your ClickMagick account.

This is important, because you want to be able to track the conversions of your squeeze pages.

For example, if 1,000 people clicked on your tracking link, but only 200 actions have been fired, that means your squeeze page is converting at 20%.

This also means that you need to either optimize it or create another squeeze page, because you’re losing out on too much traffic.
